Mackie’s of Scotland has followed its success at the Scottish Retail Food & Drink Awards by winning a new listing for its Honeycomb ice cream in up to 245 Waitrose stores across the UK. The upmarket supermarket chain already stocks its Traditional flavour.

The new deal is worth in the region of £500,000 in retail sales for Mackie’s and follows a UK-wide Sainsbury’s listing for Honeycomb last year. It also coincides with the business hitting its highest-ever market share in the premium ice cream sector in England and Wales.

Ice cream of the crop: SRFDA success for Mackie’s

Last Thursday (25 May), the Aberdeenshire-based ice cream maker’s White Chocolate & Raspberry flavour collected one of only seven Platinum Awards presented at the SRFDA ceremony in Glasgow.

Lyndsay Mackay, senior national account manager at Mackie’s, said: “The success of our traditional real dairy ice cream over the past three decades has been brilliant. Our Scottish consumers have long been able to enjoy our wide range of fantastic flavours, and we’re so excited about this new listing giving consumers in England and Wales an opportunity to discover more of Mackie’s.”
