Highland bakery Harry Gow has launched a new partnership with Morrisons to make its products available in the retailer’s Inverness and Alness branches.

The move comes after the Culloden-headquartered bakery’s signature breads, rolls and sweet treats were the products most requested by Morrisons’ customers in the north of Scotland.

If sales remain strong, the bakes are set to become a permanent fixture on the supermarket chain’s shelves.

David Gow, Director at Harry Gow, said: “We’re proud of our baking heritage at Harry Gow, and are always looking for new ways to bring our products to the people that want them. To be able to offer our bakes as people pick up their weekly shop is fantastic, and we’re really looking forward to seeing the outcome of the trial period.”

Products on offer in Morrisons include the bakery’s signature dream rings and award-winning vanilla and raspberry slices, alongside empire biscuits, fairy shortbread, plain and fruit scones, and Christmas mince pies. Harry Gow is also providing a selection of breads and rolls, including light rye bread, brown and white pan breads, morning rolls and softies.

“As a local lad growing up in Inverness, and being a regular customer throughout the years with Harry Gow, I’m proud to be working in partnership with Harry Gow by selling their quality products in my store. I truly believe in supporting local businesses and we have several ‘local’ businesses already set up in my store,” Robert MacMillan, general manager at Morrisons, added.

“The quality of Harry Gow’s products is some of the finest I have seen and tasted and this is testament to Harry Gow’s team as a collective. I look forward to the future and building the Harry Gow brand.”
