Broadcaster Edith Bowman has been announced as the host of the Scotland Food & Drink Excellence Awards 2025.

The celebration of Scotland’s very best food and drink producers will take place on Thursday 4 September, with the Awards returning to Glasgow for the second year in a row. Tickets to the event are on sale now.

The Excellence Awards has expanded its categories this year to include four new awards to celebrate food tourism businesses, innovation, organic businesses, and food & drink campaigns. Businesses can enter the business or tasted awards via Scotland’s Food & Drink’s website until 28 May, with entries open to both members and non-members.

This year’s event comprises 14 tasted awards and seven business categories. All products entered into tasted categories are sampled and assessed by an expert judging panel that includes buyers from major retailers, wholesalers and foodservice, as well as journalists and independent venue operators.

Edith Bowman commented: “I am so excited to be hosting The Excellence Awards and as a proud Scot, to be celebrating the best of Scotland’s exceptional food and drink scene is an honour.

“Having grown up in the hospitality world, I know only too well the hard work and dedication that goes into providing amazing quality and service. Nobody does it like we do, and I can’t wait to celebrate with everyone.”

Iain Baxter, Chief Executive of Scotland Food & Drink, added: “Coming from Fife, Edith Bowman grew up surrounded by some of the country’s finest food and drink producers, and will be a knowledgeable and entertaining host for this year’s Excellence Awards celebrations.”

Asda has renewed its commitment to the Awards, once again supporting the event as headline sponsors – something the retailer has done for more than a decade.

Ashley Connolly, Local Buying Manager for Asda Scotland, said: “We are counting down the days to another fantastic event.  Year in year out the awards give us the opportunity to engage directly with the incredible local producers who make our food and drink sector the great success it is.”

Tickets for the Excellence Awards are now available for £150 + VAT for members, and £250 + VAT for non-members.
