Coinneach MacLeod – The Hebridean Baker

Bestselling author and TikTok sensation Coinneach MacLeod – The Hebridean Baker – will headline this year’s Gullane Food & Drink Festival.

Coinneach will take centre stage in Gullane Village Hall on Friday 12 April, creating two bakes using ingredients sourced from local farms and signing copies of his new book ‘The Hebridean Baker at Home’.

The festival, now in its third year, sees local food and drink businesses use local ingredients to highlight sustainable, environmentally-friendly food production. Local community groups, pubs and cafes have all joined forces to back the event, which is sponsored by Rettie & Co.

It will run from 8 to 14 April with an exciting and diverse lineup of events, including farm and flour mill tours, rounded off by a fun- and flavour-packed weekend.

Saturday 13 April will see the East Lothian town’s Smiddy Green transformed into a food lover’s paradise with around 50 traders selling local food and drink products alongside a curated selection of street food vendors. Attendees can expect to find everything from crumbles to crepes, pizza to paella, and waffles to whisky.

The festival will close on Sunday 14 April with a Family Fun Day and Community Picnic in support of Muirfield Riding Therapy and the East Lothian Food Bank. Coaches from Sporting Revolution will provide a selection of activities for everyone to enjoy.

Festival founder and owner of the Cherish Tearoom in Gullane, Louise Pickering, said: “The Gullane Food and Drink Festival is an opportunity to showcase the amazing larder East Lothian has to offer. It will once again celebrate the area’s excellent food and drink.

“We are delighted to welcome Coinneach Macleod, The Hebridean Baker, to this year’s festival. To attract such a culinary celebrity and social media sensation is a real coup for East Lothian.

“We are sure visitors won’t be disappointed by the excellent food and drink on offer from across the county and beyond.”
