Eden Mill St Andrews won four awards at this year’s Global Spirit Masters.

The distillery’s Golf Gin and Love Gin both struck gold in The Gin Masters 2023, while The Art of St Andrews 2023 Single Malt won a Masters Medal in the Design & Packaging Masters with The Guard Bridge Blended Scotch taking silver in the same competition.

The independent distiller joined forces with Fife-based illustrator Jill Calder to create the packaging for this year’s Art of St Andrews release, an annual limited edition that celebrates the creativity of local artists. Inspired by nature, Calder’s design replicates the plants and wildlife of St Andrews, as well as the silhouette of the distillery building.

The artwork was reproduced on a giant Scottie Dog statue as part of the Wild in Art trail that raised money for Scottish cancer charity Maggie’s.

The design of the Guard Bridge packaging, with shades of blue and teal, was inspired by the tidal ebb and flow of the Eden Estuary – the site of Eden Mill’s new distillery and visitor centre.

Head of marketing at Eden Mill Hannah Ingram said: “For the design of two of our new products to be recognised in these awards is a fantastic achievement for Eden Mill.

“The packaging and bottle design of both The Guard Bridge and Art of St Andrews 2023 were meticulously thought through and are intrinsically linked with our hometown and its surrounding areas.

“I must also thank and congratulate Jill for her wonderful Art of St Andrews design. Her bespoke art creation is truly beautiful, reimagining the stunning scenery, animals and nature of our hometown and its surrounding areas.”

Commenting on the success of Golf Gin and Love Gin, Eden Mill’s head distiller Scott Ferguson added: “We’ve worked extremely hard over the years to amplify our gin range, so to be awarded gold for two of our products is wonderful.

“We hope the awards highlight the quality and flavour of our gins to our existing supporters and new ones too.”
